Guest guest
Hi, When I went for my apt this week, I had a chance encounter with our local Xolair rep. She clarified a few things for me.... 1) Most ppl can hope for a 50% improvement in their baseline (whatever that is). Thus, hoping to live on 2 puffs of Flovent a day when before you were on max doses + pred 50mg is not realistic. So ppl may do better and some may do worse but tbat is the average. So if I was before stuck on 12.5 mg pred and now I am on 5mg so that is more than a 50% drop in the dose which puts me approximately par for the course. 2) There is mixed views about what pred does to IgEs. So she said most docs just dose at whatever level you produce regardless of your pred usage. That is how they did the studies too. More xolair is not necessarily better... 3) Xolair has been shown to be cost-effective in terms of decreased ER visits, lost productivity etc...(they did the math....) 4) There has not been one single case of anaphylatic-like reactions in Canada. There are about 900 users.... Have a great day! Be smarter than spam.
