Toni,

I understand your frustration. This is all difficult enough without

the doctor make it harder to get proper treatment.

Dear ,

I wouldn't discount the improvement in coordination. It definitely

gets even better over time. How much vit E are you giving? Just 400

IU or have you gone up to 800 IU? ph rarely falls down anymore.

(He was a complete trauma hazard to himself just a few months ago),

and if he trips/falls it actually looks like something not

unexpected for a busy 3 year old. Let us know how it goes over the

next month! -

Hello everyone

Just wanted to give the latest update.

I've seen both my primary care doctor and neurologist since my last message.

Right now, they're both going over my complete medical record. They had me

sign releases for my other doctors, right down to my ob-gyn. They don't

want to leave a single stone unturned. In the meantime, I have an

appointment to see the Boston Dr. to gain his input, and the PC Doc and

Neuro will be faxing any findings to him. Also, I have a ton of tests and

bloodwork lined up.

Don't know exactly what they are looking for, or what they have in mind, but

it sounds like they both agree that they don't think my respiratory arrest

episodes are strictly asthma related. They are also both in agreement that

my asthma is no longer completely under " good " control even with the Xolair.

They think something else is amiss.

That is NOT to say that the Xolair hasn't done wonders. It absolutely has

brought me great success. It just seems that I have some triggers or

symptoms that aren't being controlled by the Xolair (ie: non allergic) that

are severe enough to need attention.

As of right now, I'm feeling great (even with the tremendous pollen outbreak

in the northeast) with the added help of Benadryl and a little extra Advair

per my doctor's advice.

I can't remember all the tests that I am getting. I know them all

individually, I just can't recall the whole list at the moment. I promise

to keep everyone updated, because as always, knowledge is power and

something I stumble across may help someone else down the line.

Thanks to everyone for the support you've lent, it's been really great. I

ve received a lot of private e-mails and they're truly appreciated. All of

your suggestions, tips, curiosities, and plain old, " I hope you find the

answers " has really been welcome through this.

Seems like just when I think I knew all there was to know about asthma, it

goes and gets that much more complicated!

Again, I promise to keep everyone informed as I find things out.

I also lost another couple of pounds... and I've been reading the posts. So

to those that seem to think that weight gain is a " side effect " of Xolair...

I guess I'll just say what I've always said about all aspects of this

medication. It really does seem to work differently for absolutely everyone

I weighed over 300lbs when I began taking it. My " guess " is that I

weighed about 330. I now weigh about 170 lbs. So it IS possible to not

only have no weight gain, but significant weight loss on the medication. I

m not saying it's not possible for you, but it doesn't seem to be at all a

blanket side effect. Perhaps down the line the group can have a poll about

that particular effect.

Best of luck, and easy breathing everyone!

Our prayers are with you and the doctors as they seek to help you. It sounds

like your doctors are really trying to find what is happening--hope they do find

a cause and that it is treatable.

see an enviornmental doctor. mold mycotoxicity is not the same as mold allergy.

you may have chemical sensitivity and or cental nervous system dysfunctionality.

am glad they are giving a you a thorough work up and I hope that you

someone else from the group with really stubborn asthma can benefit

from your trials.

You are a great supporter of everyone in the group and I am glad that

you feel that support returned to you. Keep hanging in there,

Thanks for mentioning that Jane - I'm interested. Could you elaborate a

bit more? I've been diagnosed w/multiple chemical sensitivity and

allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis plus I strongly believe the

central nervous system plays a part in all this somehow (also diagnosed

w/fibromyalgia) but not quite sure how to search it. Any tips or

phrases on how these might interact would be great.

Well, as I have been stating off & on I've been feeling like hell

lately...especially for the majority of May...my most recent bloodwork

finally coincides with how I feel! My Rd called today (talked to the wife,

but I'll be trying to reach him personally) and told my wife that my SED

rate is real high, WBC's are real high and RBC are low, but not horribly!

Why am I happy about this???? It doesn't help me in anyway, it just

reinforces that I have been feeling like total shit! Top that off with a

nasty bout of Poison (ivy/oak/sumac/ ....pick one, I don't know for sure) in

all of the WRONG places and a headache that has officially started week 2!!!

I couldn't even get my morphine pump refilled today as the poison

(whatever) is all over the area where they have to pierce my abdomen to

refill the pump. I am having a SPECT SCAN for my Sacriatic Joints as they

have been causing me tremendous amounts of pain, which also cause pain into

the knees, ankles & feet.

Outside of all of that I am at the end of my rope on the Stress

meter...mine is beyond pegged! I haven't been able to fish much at all and

can't afford to do much else.

I know I've been over-doing it a bit lately, but one has to chase a few

bucks when the opportunity arises! I'm actually hoping something will

" break " as I could use some self time!!!! It won't happen this week as we

have a mini-football camp Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun,.....and I have to be there

as I coach...but at least my kids will be there too.

The one thing that has me nervous is the blood results though, as I don't

do well on the " Biologicals " and little else has worked for me. The last

time my blood was this off I was in the midst of the revolving door into &

out of the ******* RESORT!!!! I will be one pissed off dude if that happens

when it is warm enough for me to be fishing....even if I can't find the time

to do much of it to date.

Well, I have to try & sleep again...which in itself is even MORE FUN now

that I want to take a belt sander to various parts of my body to rid me of

this shit!

Adios, Kirk

Well, I have to try & sleep again...which in itself is even MORE FUN now

that I want to take a belt sander to various parts of my body to rid me of

this shit!

Hi Kirk

You are going through a really rotten time now and always it seems to me.

How you can keep up coaching the kids football I don't know. Must be one

hellof a fella. I do admire you and all the rest of the family that keep on

fighting . Hope you improve soon and can fish to your heart's content.

Best wishes

Pick me up...I'm game for it. Kirk. Bring a Potato Gun for the Jet Skiers!

That way if the fishing sucks we can have target practice!!!! I hate those

little bas*****! They always seem to fly between me & wherever I'm

fishing...even if there is only 15 feet between me & the shore.....so the

Potato Gun is a requirement/pre-requisite on my going!
