Hi i am so envious of all you Yankies loosing weight post op

Here in Oz it has been conveyed to me by a few people that I have put on weight since my surgery 5 weeks ago. which did not make me happy at all as I thought maybe I had put on a little weight but not so that it was so obvious to the whole freaking world

What is your secret? Is it something in the water?

I know I do have extensive RA and that prevents me from exercising and I did increase my steroids to get over the pain and inflammation but what gives people the right to be so blatant and blunt about my weight gain

Well it is almost 2 weeks now since I had my knee replaced. I am doingreally great despite a rocky start. I can totally straighten my legand I can bend it at 100 degrees. Still on the pain meds and musclerelaxers. I lost over 20 pounds since surgery. I have no appetitewhats-so-ever and still feel nauseated. The doctor thinks it isbecause of all the pills I am on. But I am getting up and doing thingsright now, so that is good.Hope all of you who had or are going to have the knee replacement aredoing good as well.Robin__________ NOD32 1.1784 (20060929) Information __________This message was checked by NOD32 antivirus system.http://www.eset.com__________ NOD32 1.1784 (20060929) Information __________This message was checked by NOD32 antivirus system.http://www.eset.com

that is great!! could you totally straighten your knee before the surgery?? I am 6 weeks post-op and I am still at #6 straighten (I was 13 when I started PT).....

My knee stil feels "tight" and sometimes it gets hot......does anyone else have this problem??

the Dr says I'm doing fine and I'm going to do another month of PT, so I just keep hoping it will get better FASTER!!

Hi Aussie

Don't sound so disheartened ... you are going really well. What's a little weight between friends? In fact, my doctor has said that he won't so anything about my hip until I've lost 30kg!

Keep up the good work and give us updates... this is encouraging as I

wait to have my own knee replacements in about 2 weeks...
