Guest guest
I was looking at a catalog recently aimed at travelers and noticed a little machine that blows out cleaned air - it's worn on a sort've string around the neck. Think there was something else too that a traveler could wear on an airplane to improve the quality of air the individual breathes. The question is: Do they work? Has anyone ever tried any of these devices? I'd like to know because like another poster I'm looking at 1 - 2 weeks in bed after most plane trips. > > > > Every plane trip I have taken in the last 4 years, I have > contracted severe > > bronchitis & have been bedridden for 1-2 weeks. Guest guest
My mother gave me a little black one that you wear around your neck but I didn't use it because it also had the ionizer or whatever it is that we're all supposed to avoid. This trip I took 20mg pred each morning as well as used my Xoponex inhaler every 6-8 hours and I did ok. Guest guest
With regards to these devices, if they create ozone or de-ionize the air, they can make asthma worse. I asked my pulmo. dr. and she said to stay clear of them in my house, at work and the personal ones. In some people with asthma, the extra ozone created will make you worse. At work I have a respirator to filter out the bad stuff (mold, dust mites, cat dander, etc.). Do a google search about ozone creators and people with asthma and make an informed decision. Thanks. > > > > > > Every plane trip I have taken in the last 4 years, I have > > contracted severe > > > bronchitis & have been bedridden for 1-2 weeks. >
