Guest guest
I was in a room with 3 smokers for about an hour last night. I won't go into detail about how and why, it would take too long and it is not really that important. Believe it or not, my lungs did not close up one bit. I was in shock! This morning, my lungs are still clear and I have had no need to neb yet. I go get my shots this afternoon and I am going to brag to my xolair nurse. Well, in my case at least, Xolair keeps my lungs open around cigarette smoke. Xolair, what a great medicine! Doug Group founder
Guest guest
I guess at this point I am going to have to add my experience. I know that the people in Cal. have had to deal with the terrible smoke (and there was a warning last night still about people with lung problems should stay inside), and Doug, I am glad that you were able to stay in the room with the smokers. My experience has been a little different this week. On Monday we had a roaring cool front move in, rained hard, and then as the rain moved on out we were left with very dry, high, gusty winds. We have had very little rain overall this Fall, so everything is still dusty and dry, even after the rain on Monday. What happened is that the wind blew the dust, mountain cedar and still some ragweed around in the air and there was enough stuff in the air to cause me to have a dry cough, and now stopped up sinuses. I have also had that unbearable tickling in my throat. I am drinking more liquids which helps some. ( I had to get out every day for one reason or another. I probably should have just stayed inside, too!) It is also a week away from my next xolair shot ( I get one a month or every four weeks.) I have had some shortness of breath and a little tightness in my chest, but I am hoping this will go away and won't develop into anything more. I will pull out the neb if the cough doesn't get better in a day or so. That usually helps my cough. I know that my reaction is very mild compared to what some of you suffer, but it has been almost two years since I have had anything close to this, thanks to xolair, so that makes it a little harder to take! Hope all of you have a good day. Adah uca79iii <bme1979@...> wrote: I was in a room with 3 smokers for about an hour last night.
