Guest guest
Hi, Would the nephew have insurance? If so, maybe they would pay for the vet? If she lives, sounds like she needs a good fenced in yard if she is deaf. It sure doesn't sound very good for Suzi. Guest guest
We had a dog run over on the hips once by a pickup truck. Fritz. He was a German Shepherd. We were building in the mountains, and it was winter. We were loading firewood in the back of the pickup truck and the road was snowpacked and dad was driving the truck I think he had chains on the wheels but it was a long time ago I don't remember that part for sure. Fritz was frolicking about with us. Dad put the truck in gear to go forward and started to go forward up the hill to the house but slipped backward on the slick snow, and Fritz got pulled under the back wheel of the truck it rolled right over his hips. Boy did he cry out. Mom and Dad put him in the back of the truck and rushed him to the emergency vet. The vet said we might as well have Fritz put to sleep cuz he would be paralized and no operation could save him. Mom was infuriated with the vet, and mom and dad took Fritz back home to our then home on the West Mesa. Mom nursed Fritz back to health. Every day she would support his hips and walk him outside and give him an enema so he could evatuate his bowels. He slept on the kitchen floor. I can't remember how long it took him to heal, but he did, and he lived for several years after, always with a bit of a crooked walk. He finally died of dog distemper or something, up in the mountains. We're not sure, but my mom gave the dogs the shots herself, and she may have forgotten to give him a shot that year. At any rate, whatever he died of had nothing to do with his hips. He ran and played in the mountains for several years always with a slightly crooked gate. I hope you can save your dog. Guest guest
Pam, I thought when I read the title that I did something I didn't know I did.. Anyway... BF & C for sure. MSM, DMSO, also, comfrey is a good bone healer too. I would be doing the first 3 right away... add the DMSO to the BF & C. MSM will help with the pain and swelling also..and her hip too.
