Guest guest
Dear Doug: At least when I was working I had insurance coverage paid for by my employer. My husband had government insurance. For a while I was covered on his policy and by mine, until the premiums got too high. Now we are both on retirement: his is USPostal Service retirement and every time he gets a COLA increase, his supplemental insurance premium for both of us goes up, sometimes more than the increase. My teacher's retirement (mine is not a lot here because of the number of years I taught at lower salaries) will remain the same forever unless the Texas Legislature some year decides to give retired teachers a raise in their retirement pensions. We are both on Social Security as well (his is very small), but everytime we get a small increase in SS it is eaten up by the increase in Medicare premiums. So we can easily identify with the raise in salary and the raise in insurance premiums! HOWEVER: we do NOT complain. We have great coverage--paid nothing but a little bit to the surgeon for my husband's double by-pass heart surgery three years ago, and I pay NOTHING for my xolair shots! The costliest item is our co-pay for all of our meds and I still have two parttime jobs that help pay for my meds. Things do get a little scary at times with our rather fixed incomes but God has always provided for our needs through what we get. I do feel for those of you who are having insurance difficulty or no insurance or insufficient insurance and add my prayers to Doug's for each of you. Here's to easy breathing--thanks to xolair. This January, my monthly premium will shoot up from 915.00 a month for my wife and I to $1,088.00. That is $13,056 of my yearly salary, over 1/4 of what I make. Add that to my out of pocket expenses and co payments and it is almost half. Praise the Lord he has provided my wife a job to keep our mortgage and grocery bills paid. Every time I get a raise, it is always eaten up plus more by higher insurance and medical costs. On the bright side........ at least I have coverage. I guess I shouldn't complain. At least I HAVE coverage. I am sure there are a lot of our group members who pay a lot more than I do and then there are those of you who are having hassles with getting your insurance to pay or getting ANY coverage. Guest guest
Lots of luck with Medco - those clowns never could get my drug claims straight - I finally gave up. Ohldepharte It's the only plan I have and can't change. Most of the time, they do pretty well but sometimes, they can be a pain. Guest guest
Doug, I find it disgusting that he premiums are so high. I have no clue what will happen. I just do not trust the government not to take payoffs.Ok I could go on and on. Guest guest
I have Medco also. I just processed my first 3-month order. What should I be looking out for? Should I save every piece of paperwork? Kristy From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Terry Sent: Sunday, September 30, 2007 8:50 PM Subject: Re: [ ] My Medical insurance costs Yikes! Also, on their site, they have a page that has everything you have purchased including what you bought at the local drugstore. I print this out every year for tax purposes. There are different policy levels with Medco. Some people pay more, some less and some pay nothing. My policy has 30 day supply prices as follows: Generic 30.00 Brand name on their list 75.00 Brand name NOT on their list 115.00 - 120.00 Xolair is NOT on their list. Check your policy booklet or call Medco's toll free number to find out exactly how much your individual policy pays. Medco sends my xolair to my doctor's office and the rest of my medications to my home address. Once, I was waiting on 2 important prescriptions and they were sent to the doctor's office by mistake. Make sure you give them the right addresses for shipment. Also, I highly suggest you sign up for their online service. http://www.medcohealth.com It has been VERY convenient for me. Medco has been a good service for me, but I do have to watch for mistakes they make from time to time Doug Group founder

My plan isn't as good as yours, but I do get my Xolair for $175 for a three month supply. . I signed up on the website like you suggested. My current order is there. I am excited and nervous. I will receive my first dose on Thursday. Thanks again, Kristy From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of uca79iii Sent: Monday, October 01, 2007 12:09 PM Subject: [ ] Re: My Medical insurance costs Yikes! > > I have Medco also.
