Some good advice here Cathie. Good site too with lots of interesting

reading. There is a lot of information concerning depression and other

forms of mental imbalance. Diet does play the major role though.

Supplementation can help tremendously. So can Juicing raw vegetables and

fruits. Gets the minerals and vitamins into your system really quickly.

I like the advice you gave on fasting and even though I'm not depressed right now, I feel encouraged by your advice about how one can even fast 3 days a week. I've been on the one fast recently for 3 and a half days. then another one for 1 and a half days, and yesterday I almost went a whole day but I was cooking something for Craig that smelled so delicious ( the squash bake) that I really wanted to taste it! So yesterday I made it to dinner. I'm really encouraged by your encouragement to fast often, and am trying also to move toward more and more raw foods. Our last BIG CHANGE ( and it took us a while to get here ) was to cut meat and most cheese from our diets ( we really haven't had meat in about a month now -- with the exception of my husband liking a sandwich for lunch and I had a sample of that -- i used to cook a lot with meat at dinner and now have cut it out entirely ) and only a little mozerrella dna I always used to have Cheddar in the house for burritos or enchilada.

I got too much whining from my daughter and husband with NO cheese in the house.

But I really am encouraged by your suggestions and know I felt so good after not eating all day yesterday til dinner and eating only a vegetarian dish. I'm going to make a real concerted effort to maintain the changes we have made so far, and to continue making more improvements.

It's not Easy I would like to say to anybody who's feeling like they have so many changes to make. It should be encouraging to know that if you make even small changes you've accomplished something that many people will never even try. It's hard and time consuming to learn new ways to eat and cook. I think I"m going to have to get a raw food cookbook.

Yes, that should help a lot. Cuz it will have plenty of creative ideas in it, and that should help a lot.

Blessings,

and thanks for being who you are Don,

a true humanitarian, a tremendous role model, a person who's found a way to live simply by good hard work and so generously in the service of humanity.

Big Hugz,

Cathie
