Guest guest
You have the right as a patient to be injected in private. In the infusion centers I've seen, there are curtains that are drawn during IV placement or injections. Once the IV is placed for a prolonged infusion, the curtains are opened so that the nurses can keep an eye on all the patients for problems that can arise. This is similar to intensive care units - the nurses need to be able to see all their patients at once but there are curtains available for short-term privacy. To my knowledge, HIPAA does not address privacy in this sense at all, but rather only privacy issues regarding medical records. Guest guest
HIPA only covers medical records, nothing else. I have first hand experience with how useless HIPA is: I am an elected official and when one of our papers decides to ask me a question about my disability I tell him " I have nothing to hide, but what I tell you is off the record and you should consult with your papers' lawyer and find out what disclosure tort is " . That nips their story in bud. Our town clerk didn't listen to me when I said do not release the names of over 500 people with handicap parking permits, could be a violation of HIPA. She replied it was not and she was right and proceeded. So I ended up filing a complaint with the Public Integrity Unit of the NYS Attorney General for a violation of public officers law - the press for my filing the complaint was so bad that she is retiring the end of this year. My advice to get them to treat your with respect: type a letter to the facility and tell them how you felt and inform them that carbon copy of this is going to your attorney and maybe list a few other agencies. That will prompt them to notice and try and rectify the shabby treatment you received so to keep it from ending up in the newspapers. ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Choose the right car based on your needs.
