Guest guest
One of the things all of us need to be doing as things like this come up is remind our doctors of our long-term or frequent use of ANY type of drug which we've used a lot of of in treating our asthma. (And let's not forget frequent issues with not getting enough oxygen....) I am now having very high blood pressure. We don't know yet what is going on. It could be a post-pred adrenal issue; it could be a new thyroid issue; it could be something else entirely. It is nervewracking and somewhat frightening (160 over 120 ain't good). At any rate, my numbers have come down thanks to Volsartan (a low dose) for the time being. In addition to pred, I have used antibiotics like some people use advil. I really have begun to believe that those of us with serious, debilitative asthma put our bodies through the ringer. I know Doug has suffered some of the most debilitating side effects of anyone here, and he has seen a marked improvement in these areas thanks to Xolair. We will not all experience this level of success (why is the friggin' Nutrisystem commercial coming to my mind????), but we can strive for it. Pituitary tumors (benign adenomas) are quite common though and respond well to treatment. Let us know what your scan shows. Do you have symptoms of hypothyroidism? (Weight gain, fatigue, depression, hair loss, low energy). > > > > > Ask a question on any topic and get answers from real people. Guest guest
someone just mentioned blood pressure - the doctor that is going to start to administer me Xolair to me tomorrow has asked me to talk to my primary care about putting me on a different blood pressure medicine - he says that Prinivil and it's generic Lisonopril cause throat irritation and coughing (hmmm... I've been thinking it's all acid reflux). He said I have a lot of things going on and I need to address every aspect. Has anyone else ever had problems with their high blood pressure medicine triggering throat spasms? ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Don't pick lemons.
