Guest guest
--- GOOD LUCK! I have been prednisone free for over a year and am enjoying what it feels like to breathe well again. Guest guest
Good job in getting to this stage - approval and setting it all up! Please don't be disappointed if you don't have an immediate " miraculous " improvement. Mine came very slowly over a period of many months but nonetheless, when I really think about it, I can tell I am LESS AFFECTED by many things than I was pre-Xolair. Finally, too, my sinuses are better and that was a big plus. I've greatly decreased the Sudafed, am still on Advair 500/50 & Spiriva, but am functioning better in the lung " department " . No oral steroids since late last spring. Share your experiences if you'd like - it's good to hear how others are doing. Just out of curiosity, would you care to mention your IgE? Mine was 409 pre-Xolair so I'm at the highest dose - 375 mgs every 2 weeks. I've sort've wondered if people w/higher IgEs take longer to respond. Yes, instdesgn1 is correct. Do not expect instant results. Xolair never was intended to be a fast acting medication like an inhaler or neb treatment. There are a only a few in this group who started getting relief after only a few shots. Personally, I believe this is rare. It does take time to get things going. It too me over a year before I saw any results. Once again, welcome Doug Group founder On Xolair since September 2003

Guest guest
After I wrote my last message, I thought I might pass out and I realized I need to take my evening dose of meds before I went to bed. After I took my meds I felt better and improved. My sinuses aren't as congested, my nose isn't runny, and I can breath easier. I woke up in the middle of the night because my body wasn't use to being able to breath a little easier. My daily peak flow hasn't change but I have had an overall improvement. Usally when I run it is about 25 dregree at 6:30 am. My lungs burn as I run and when I stop running I am coughing (and spitting) so bad that I have to just wait for 15-20 minutes before I can make it to my car. I feel light head and dizzy but I don't pass out. I continue to cough til about lunch no better how much combivent I take. Since X, I have ran twice in the same conditions. I still cough (and spit) but not to the extented it use to be and for about five minutes then I am fine. This has been great. Also, I forgot to take my flonase for two days and then I decide to take it. I felt overmedicated and dehydrated. That is good because now I don't need my flonase but I still need my afrin (periodically). I still feel a little dizzy but overall better. It takes a special person to serve his/her country in the armed forces. Secondly, congratulations getting through the red tape and FINALLY getting your first Xolair Shots. Thirdly, remember, it takes some of us up to a year or more to see any results whatsoever. I wanted quick results but alas, I didn't get any. After 6 months I told my doctor that I was quitting. He persuaded me to " stay the course " and it took a me year to see any results. Now, I am glad I listened to him! Can't wait till the X kicks in for you too Doug Group founder
