My doctor's office has about 17 Xolair patients and he has one nurse who does all of the insurance hassle so the patients don't have to. I had an insurance change in 2008. Same company, same Rx provider but a different policy and different Specialty Pharmacy. Well, we had to start all over again from scratch. (Typical!! ) I haven't received my first shipment for 2008 yet but our xolair nurse has contacted them several times and they have agreed to cover it AFTER my deductible is met. Well, it is now met. I won't believe I actually have coverage till I see it in his office by my own eyes and am holding my breath. Literally! LOL My secretary has bad migraines and nothing but Maxalt will help her. It is terribly expensive and her insurance company has refused to pay for it. It is not even a specialty drug. Her doctor and his staff are working on the problem at the moment. In the mean time, she suffers. Some doctors have actually given samples to their patient when these things occur, unfortunately, Xolair does not fit into this category. Guest guest
Liz, I would say have the Xolair person from the office call and take care of the script. It is ok to vent here because many of us have been there in one way or another. Good luck. Good news came today. My liason at the Dr.'s office called to let me know she had it all taken care of and my order is being shipped. She says this is not uncommon. I am thankful she was able to get my problem resolved rather quickly, but it is sad that so many people have these problems. Liz >
