Guest guest
I have not expected Xolair to impact my oncoming arthritis, as I've never heard anything about arthritis being mediated/impacted/whatever by IgE. What Xolair has done, by greatly decreasing my allergic responses, is lower my overall level of inflammation, including in my sinuses. In turn, this makes episodes less severe generally, b/c I start from a level of almost no inflammation, so I don't get as inflamed when I have an allergic episode. Before Xolair, my sinuses were inflamed all the time, even when I felt " fine. " Theoretically, Xolair could help the arthritis issue indirectly, since the improvement in overall inflamation should (again theoretically) mean my " inflamation starting point " for any inflammatory issue is lower. But I don't really know. I do know the early onset arthritis was not noticeable when I was taking all that pred. I'm also convinced there are some of us who have some genetic component that predisposes us to inflammation. My mom's side of the family have all had arthritis. I don't know where the allergic component comes from - it's probably a genetic result of a combination of my mom's genes and my dad's. LUCKY ME. That said, it's important that we try to minimize environmental factors. Drink lots of water. Avoid smoky environments. Take antioxidants.
