Hi Doug,

Something similar happened to my daughter at school with a new sports

teacher at her primary school, he believed asthma was in the mind so if

you told yourself you didn't have it well you no longer had it, one day

Cheyenne collapsed because of her asthma and couldn't get to her

Ventolin because he took it off her, she almost died and had to

resuscitated needless to say this man is a believer now so when I say to

people now she need her meds with her or no she cant do that as she will

die people take me seriously, but to get it through peoples heads it

came at a price.

Simone,

I have a degree in music education. Upon graduation, I was certified

to teach public school music and did so till I went into church music

in 1980.

When I was in college, they taught ALL education major's that the

health of the child was paramount. We even were required to take a

class where we were taught the signs of serious health problems what

to do, how to give first aid and some emergency procedures etc...

I guess my coach in 1969 never had classes like that. Personally, he

was a bully. Us boys had enough problems with bullies among the

students and didn't need a teacher to be one too.

As I said in my post, I could go on and on about my 9th grade gym

class horrors but I wont LOL!

We've been misspelling - it's asthnostic, like the first sylable of

asthma.

I think many people have experienced this or know of someone.

I was made to run the mile in junior high. It was a cold damp October morning.

I went to the gym coach and was told " Everyone has asthma today, get in line to

run " . I made it maybe 1/4 the track and collapsed. Only to hear later him tell

my mom I never told him. I had that same issue in elemenetary school too. After

that incident, I was excused from gym.

adly, it still happens today. One would think things would improve but guess

not.
