Hope this is OK to post since it's not strictly r/t Xolair.

Some of you may already have looked this up, but there are new

guidelines on treating asthma. I just started reading and it is so

interesting that I thought I would share the website.

www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/asthma

Then click on " full report "

You can read it all, or in sections, as it is outlined by chapters.

Carol,

Yes, I think that this is ok since it deals with asthma and not advertising a

product or service.

Carol - thanks for sharing this important info! Do you know how well

it correlates with guidelines from groups like the American Academy

of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology? (Just curious how it does.)

Add my thanks as well. I have only read part of the article, but have already

learned quite a bit and it makes some sense out of some of the things my pulmo

said to me about my lungs.

Will keep on reading it until I finish it! It is very well written and easy

for a " layman " to read.

Thanks Carol!

Like everyone else I'm finding that quite interesting

and informative!!

Funny thing (weird funny, not funny " ha ha " )which my

husband sent me, was this link from the BBC NEWS,

while I was reading what you posted.

This article is very interesting and QUITE

disturbing! Made me think about everything that Simone

is going through with her daughter's asthma in

Australia! AND makes me wonder about what we're not

getting from our doctors here in the US!

Here is another interesting article from Dr Gupta, CNN News, on

asthma where he reefers to the NHLBI guidelines. When he asked an

asthma sufferer what it was like having asthma he was told, " like

breathing through a straw " , so he tried it.

I just tried the link and they have apparently already archived this

article. If you are interested in reading it, go to CNN and search

" Dr Gupta asthma " , It's under " Paging Dr. Gupta blog " .
