Guest guest
One time I felt flushed and a little lightheaded this was when i first started shots and I attributed it to some possible anxiety. I have never had that issue again. wittyone91 <wittyone91@...> wrote: Last week when I received my injections, I left the hospital after an hour wait and a few hours later I like got dizzy and blacked out but only for a few seconds.I have been receiving these injections for 5 months and this never happened before. I had eaten like an hour before that so I know that it wasn't because of low blood sugar and when they took my blood pressure it was normal so the shots were the only thing that i did differantly that day Anyone else ever experience this after the xolair injections? Guest guest
I would not assume that your dizziness and brief fainting episode were due to Xolair even though they were associated in time. It's very important that you see your primary for evaluation ASAP - Fran --- In , " wittyone91 " <wittyone91@...> wrote: > > Last week when I received my injections, I left the hospital after an > hour wait and a few hours later I like got dizzy and blacked out but > only for a few seconds.I have been receiving these injections for 5 > months and this never happened before. Guest guest
There are many, many causes of fainting (syncope). I would suggest a trip to see your family doctor. Guest guest
I've had it (dizziness and sense of faintness) but it's been immediate and very brief. On a couple of occasions there has been the slightest hint of nausea but also very brief and went away very quickly. It occurred the most when I moved up the injection date by one day to accomodate travel. I felt like laying down for a few minutes afterward. Since there was no difficulty breathing and no swelling or rash or any other sign of allergic reaction I just chalked it off as a fluke because it was so minor and transient. Also, I've never actually fainted. The last time I injected (2 weeks ago today) I didn't notice any dizziness afterward. Come to think of it, maybe it's occurred more when I inject in my stomach although I haven't kept any records. I assumed (think I've said this before) that it's from scrunching over a very chubby tummy (mine) and probably reducing my oxygen for a minute not to mention slightly displacing stomach contents. (Forgive me if anyone's eating while reading!) It's also seemed sometimes it's more likely to occur when I'm in a hurry (although I NEVER rush the shots) or particularly stressed about something. Tonight is another round of Xolair injections - 375 mgs (3 shots) so I'll see if I feel anything this evening since I'm p.o.'d at a doctor! --- In , " wittyone91 " <wittyone91@...> wrote: > > Last week when I received my injections, I left the hospital after an > hour wait and a few hours later I like got dizzy and blacked out but > only for a few seconds.I have been receiving these injections for 5 > months and this never happened before. Guest guest
I stand to get my shots in my arms (one shot a month in alternating arms), so if I ever was dizzy I would attribute it to having stood so still while I was getting the shot. The nurses who give me the shots give them verrrry slowly (which is the way it is supposed to be given) and so I am standing very still. Today I had no reaction of any kind. Had a busy day the rest of the day and am still up at 12:00, but am beginning to fade! I do feel a little drowsy sometimes after I have had the shot, but I rarely lie down and take a nap after a shot, even if I feel a little drowsy. Usually have too much going on--like caring for a 4 year old granddaughter and then teaching piano lessons after that. Have a great breathing day--hope all of you get some rest tonight.
