Guest guest
- YES! I zeroed right in when I saw this topic. It just started a few weeks ago and really kind of scares me. The dr said that it could be a side effect from one of the any zillion of meds that I am on - Remicade, MTX etc. Also it may be a B vitamin deficiency. What about you? I'm on vioxx, MTX, and folic acid. I do also take B12 and B6
Guest guest
Hi Steve, My son has never had joint injections done so I don't have any similar personal experience to share (he's got systemic and has always taken oral steroids). I'm glad Tony is doing better though. That must have been scary. Josh had JRA-related pericarditis in the past. Inflammation in the sac around the heart that caused really bad chest pain, shoulder pain, and shortness of breath. He said it hurt even just to breathe. It hurt more when he tried to lay down so he wasn't even able to rest. The doctor was able to tell something was up just by listening to his heartbeat through a stethoscope. Then they did xrays and an EKG. Josh was extremely uncomfortable and frightened, which of course worried me, so I can understand how you must have felt needing to take your little boy in for heart-related symptoms. I checked over at the Rx List website to see if arrhythmia was listed as a possible side effect for Aristospan in the patient pamphlet. It wasn't but, as usual, it said that side effects other than those listed may occur and to speak with your doctor about it. It also said that if you have heart disease or high blood pressure that you may require a lower dose or special monitoring. Take care, Georgina STEVE wrote: > > My son Tony, 7 years old, symptoms since January, Dx pauciarticular JRA in > May, had a joint injection (Aristospan) last week Tuesday, and was in the ER > on Wednesday with Arrhythmia. Guest guest
Dear Geargina, We were indeed very scared by Tony's episode, and are now very glad that it seems to be an isolated incident. Thanks for checking the prescription info for me, I wasn't sure where I could find it. I have not been able to find complete info that was available to the public. The Rx list website sounds like a very useful resource. Is it available to all, or only MDs? What is the URL? Re: Side Effect? Guest guest
You really should let your doctor know about this. You may need a change in the dosage or something. It's not good for your heart to pound like that. sc -- Side effect? I'm on week 2 of Lexapro...only 4th day on 20 mg. I love it...so much better than the Cymbalta/Wellbutrin cocktail; I can't even tell you. My thing is this, when I take the Lexapro my heart feels like it's pouding hard. Now I've had agoraphobia in the past and plenty of panic attacks etc so I am very much attuned to it when I feel my heart pounding like that. I don't feel anxious(maybe because I have beat the agoraphobia though and am just not as anxious anymore) but the heart pounding lasts 4 about 4 or 5 hours. It is distracting and keeps me from sleeping. I take it when I get home at 6 pm or so and by 10 am ready to poop out but usually have another hour before the pounding calms down enough to sleep. I'm fine when I get up in the morning. Has anyone else had this problem and do you think it will pass? I feel so good otherwise that I sure don't want to switch if this will go away... Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone experiences being very thirsty after receiving the shot. For me, this seems to last a couple of days.
Guest guest
I forgot to mention that my lung capacity has improved 10% over the fist two shots of Xolair. My doctor downplayed this on Wednesday, after my 4th shot, by saying it may go back to what it was. My testing this past time was the highest it has ever been at 80% of a normal person without asthma. I choose to think this is significant because it has never been that high. My worst was at 66%! ________________________________ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Becker, Sent: Tuesday, November 27, 2007 11:25 AM Subject: [ ] Side effect? Guest guest
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm with you! I wouldn't down play your PFT that is a reason to celebrate. Here is hoping you continue to improve over the holiday season. Regarding your thirsty question. I used to get kind of a sore throat. Kind of a dry sore throat. " Becker, " <nbecker@...> wrote: I forgot to mention that my lung capacity has improved 10% over the fist two shots of Xolair.
