Guest guest
I've only been on Xolair for two and a half years, so this may or may not help you. Remember every body is different! If you don't hear anything from Novartis, maybe you can get in touch with Genentec?! OR even talk to one of the Nurses at Xpansions. You can access that via www.xpansions.com OR just go to www.xolair.com. I had RAST testing done about a month ago. We did trees, molds, pets and food. MOST of my reactions were a 3 out of 4. I found out that I am now allergic to tomatoes. My previous allergy testing was done in 1988! I also tested positive for aspergillus molds (which means I may or may not have ABPA along with the asthma)and still managed to have a LOVELY histamine reaction. --- heather <heaven1975@...> wrote: > does anyone know for sure if food allergy testing > (both RAST bloodwork > and skin prick testing) is accurate after almost 4 > years of xolair? > > my eczema is just not healing, and while my asthma > is prety much > controlled (with more meds than i'd like), it seems > the allergy and > eczema part of me is always in some point of a > flare, never really > going away 100%. my dermo was wondering about food > allergies. i asked > my allergist/asthma spec (who does the xolair) and > she wans't sure > either. i'm going for the bloodwork, and she said > she'd try to find > out the answer. > > anyone know for sure? i emailed novartis, but > haven't heard back yet. > > thanks > > > heather > > __________________________________________________

I was NEGATIVE on everything. I couldn't believe it. I asked my doctor why I was still having asthma. He said that things other than allergies were causing it like weather, smoke in the air etc... I then asked him if I could go OFF my regular shots and Xolair because it is for ALLERGIC asthma. He said " Why do you think your tests turned up negative? If you get off xolair and your regular allergy shots you will get a pretty bad relapse. Shots and Xolair are NOT a cure. " Needless to say, I am STILL on all shots and my asthma is MUCH better before xolair. Doug
