Guest guest
What exactly is the relationship between asthma and sinusitis? Over the years various docs have said that there is thought to be a connection but no one has ever really explained it. I've seen things to that effect on the web too. Although my asthma is not totally under control, my pulmo (whom I like) told me this week that she's very pleased as my numbers on pft have significantly increased since last Oct. (I've been on Xolair since March 23rd.) They're still not " normal " as far as I can tell - something like 76% of predicted. Is there such a thing as 100%? I told her that I'm disappointed that I still have to use Advair every day (for asthma - doesn't seem to do anything for sinus). She responded that Advair is very good medicine and I might not ever be able to go off from it. Bummer! That was one of my goals! Ok, so if asthma has improved, why hasn't sinusitis? My pre-xolair IgE was 409 so I know there's real allergy going on. Catscans have shown no blockage - no polyps. What is the latest thinking on all this? Thanks.
