Guest guest
My pulmo sends me to an ENT every three years just to make sure there's nothing new under the sun he doesn't know about. There never is. I've been to see the two best ENTs in the area and both of them have apologized to me for not being able to do anything for me. They agree that I should follow my pulmo's treatment plan in order to protect my lungs and not risk pneumonia or a serious pulmonary event. Guest guest
I agree with vibrations. We bought a small massager thingy at tone for 30 bucks. ly, I'm not sure it's not some odd little personal toy, but it works great on my sinus headaches. I guess stimulating blood flow increases oxygen flow to the area, as well as breaking up the mucus. I also use it on the bottoms of my feet for that early onset arthritis! Also, cold packs make my head feel better, but I think warm compresses help loosen mucus more. Guest guest
i'll have to try the vibration thing - i never thought of that. i know the heat/cold idea helps a bit....in addition to the ol' sinus rinse (ick! but it helps) > > > > My mother-in-law told me, when she used to get sinus > > infections back in college, she put her face against > > the cold window on the bus and discovered the > > vibrations of the bus helped break things up. Guest guest
Terry, when I was hae severe " chronic " (vs. recurring acute!) sinusitis from all kinds of nasty bugs, I was always treated very aggressively with the appropriate antibiotics, including IV when necessary; with multiple surgeries as needed; and with IV immunoglobulin (antibodies) for my particular immune problem. " Not treat " ??? Sounds preposterous. I agree that it sounds like time for a new ENT. Suggest you find someone who is extremely well experienced in endoscopic sinus surgery and who has a strong training background.
