Guest guest
I've just been reviewing Medicare Part D (prescription) coverage for 2008 and will be staying with the AARP/United Preferred plan. I got nervous for a bit when I went through the formulary and saw that Xolair will be covered under this Part D plan for the first time as a " Tier 4 " drug, meaning the copay would be 33%. So far I've been receiving Xolair under Medicare Part B with a 20% copay, which is now looking really good! So I called Medicare to find out if Part B would continue to cover it now that it can be covered under Part D and they tell me it's my choice as to which plan I want to use and that if I want to continue having it covered under Part B is still will be only a 20% copay. That sounds SO unlikely.... " my choice " ???!!! On insurance coverage??? From Medicare?????? So my question is, has anyone else run into this with Medicare and been given the same or a different answer? Do any of our Xolair nurses have any specific information about any possible upcoming changes in Xolair coverage under part B? -Fran
