Guest guest
Last time I was in to see my Doc, we were discussing (as calmly and rationally as possible) my insurance company's policy of reviewing my preauthorization of Xolair every 6 months (I've been on it 4 years). When I called my insurance company for an explanation of the policy, they just said that was " for my own safety " . Does anyone know of any study at all to the effect that Xolair either quits working in long-term patients or cures asthma? On a more positive note, he mentioned reading treatment recommendations for severe asthma that now recommended using Xolair therapy over putting people on evil candy long term. I hadn't heard this anywhere else, has anyone seen it? Maybe it will mean that some folks will get to avoid the evil candy business and go straight to Xolair, and the insurance hassles might get easier.
