The colon is only about 6 feet long max. Very little absorption happens in the colon with the exception of absorption of water and salts. Otherwise, this is where the bacteria work their wonder on processing what is left after leaving the small intestines into feces for elimination and where your body dumps its toxins to be added to the feces for elimination. The anus is the ummm... well hole if you will. The rectum is the small part of the colon from the Sigmoid section to the anus. Yes, your small intestines can get plugged up too. When the small intestines are plugged you don't get the nutrition your body needs. When the colon is clogged you stay in perpetual autotoxicity (your body cannot get rid of toxins due to the fact that the colon is clogged up and more toxins just keep getting added into the blood stream along with the toxins your body is trying to get rid of and getting recirculated throughout the body to be deposited in tissues and organs. Always good to learn something new every day. Keeps you young that way. -- Peace, love and light, Don Quai " Spirit sleeps in the mineral, breathes in the vegetable, dreams in the animal and wakes in man.
