Here is a group of funny terms made up by group members through the years:

1. evil candy = all cortisol-derivative medications but especially

Prednisone, IV solumedrol etc..

2. Extra evil candy = Decadron

3. Super Glue = another word for Xolair

4. SOB = short of breath

5. Putty = goopy mucus lungs produce. Can be coughed up and used

to tile bathtubs etc...

6. Asthma fairy = small critter that waves a magic wand and can

make you produce more putty without notice. Also makes you SOB.

7. Peak flow meter = 1) useful tool to measure lung fxn and track

progress of disease or 2) a little toy to play with like a kazoo

3) a means to amuse pulmonologists/allergists and well-

intentioned ER docs.

8. Miracle = No problems or hassles getting approved by insurance and

them to pay for your Xolair.)
