Guest guest
Ooh, I had sciatica so bad when I was pregnant that I couldn't safely operate a vehicle--my legs kept going numb! I ended up seeing a physical therapist, and WOW did I get a trick off them -- try it; it works GREAT! It's a little uncomfortable, but...get a big, big ol' ice pack. As big as your butt (and mine was pretty big when I was 8 months pregnant!), and SIT ON IT for FIFTEEN WHOLE MINUTES. You really won't like the feeling of a frozen arse by the end, but like I said, this helps *tremendously*. Every once in a while my sciatica still flares up, but I can usually get it to go away completely now with just one butt-of-ice session! Good luck! -S
Guest guest
Yeah, it's hard to feel where the pain is coming from--actually it originates in your pelvis, where your spinal cord branches off into the two main nerves that run down your legs. You generally feel it in your gluts (butt) or the backs of your thighs. It sucks--I have such sympathy for you! So yeah, believe it or not, sitting on ice will help. Some people have said to alternate hot and cold, but I've never tried that. Just get whatever you can that's big enough and pop a (freezing cold) squat! Good luck! -S MorningGlory113@... wrote: > >> As big >> as your butt (and mine was pretty big when I was 8 months pregnant!), >> and SIT ON IT for FIFTEEN WHOLE MINUTES. >> >> Is there any specific place to put the ice pack?
