Food Allergies caused my Asthma

Hi Everyone,

I haven't posted for some time but I am still here. I had a

bronchoscopy last week due to nodules on my lungs found in a CAT scan

but they were gone when they finally did the scope. Te CAT result

said " Collagen Vascular Disease " or less likely Neoplasia.

Sarcoidosis is a posssibility, nodules come and go with that and a

neurologist was testing me for autoimmune disease last year but I

didn't want a spinal tap so we didn't go further. At least it isn't

cancer!

One thing that may have caused these is food allergy and resulting

inflamation! I was tested years ago, 1998 for food allergies and just

ignored it because I thought it was silly and I didn't want to deal

with it. Well I am now and this past few months that I have gone

Gluten Free I can breath and am off nearly all meds! I still use one

puff not two of flovent and the occassional Albuteral but no

Serevent, Xopenex, Xolair, prednesone (I was on that off and on). It

took a bout of pheumonia last May to end up with the CAT due to the

pain. The Chest Xray before the scope showed a fractured rib, I

couphed so hard I fractured a rib, now I know why so much pain!

I wish I had taken the allergies seriously sooner, maybe I would

still have my hearing that I lost in one ear due to meds I believe,

some of you know my story.

I thought I would have to find a new home for my little dogs, that

spurred me to try this. Also, I didn't eat my whole wheat bagel one

morning and felt better, that was a red flag. My next allergy to

address is the dairy. I already switched to Better Than Milk Soy

Drink made from Tofu so the phtoestrogens are not a problem. I have

been using it for many years. I have let go of yogurt mostly but the

cheese with Mexican food is really tough! Well I don't eat it often.

I do have an occassional fast food thing with gluten but it is not

enough to kick the asthma back in much. I still have real butter on

my toast which is gluten free bread. I like Sami's best but also

Energy White Rice and Flax. They will send samples if you ask. I made

gluten free cookies last night and my husband likes them too! Uh Oh.

Well my guilt for not posting this is now gone. I have taken the time

to let you all know what has happened to me and I hope it helps some

of you. I just can't believe it was so simple and I complicated it.

Good Breathing,
