Guest guest
This is a repeat post from a 2 years back...... Since then, my doctor's group came to their senses quietly came back into the BCBS network. All my xolair and dr visits are now paid at 100% since I switched to a high deductible BCBS plan. We are still suffering in this area because of this fight. A lot of doctors and specialists left leaving us with a limited number. Lots of us now have to drive out of town to get care faster and higher quality care. ------------------------------------ Here in my city, we have 2 major corporations that own all the doctor's offices and hospitals. The doctors that did not want to participate in any group moved or joined one side or the other to keep from being run out of town. Both sides used to take Blue Cross until last year. One group got mad at BCBS because they did not pay them enough. It was a big fight. This local medical corporation and BCBS fought this out in the print and TV media for all to see. Both ran big page adds one blaming the other for the impass. Each would say: " The patient is our main concern, _______ doesn't care about you because they won't come to an agreement with us; so, Patient, you need to call or write _____ and tell them you want them to talk to us in good faith. Well, neither side would budge and the BCBS Patients lost because one side does not have enough specialists in it's corporation. Of course, my allergist (the only one who gives xolair) is NOT in my network. This costs me about 2000.00 a year just to get my xolair administrated AND regular allergy shots. I pay 1000.00 a month for my premiums on top of this. I blame BOTH groups! Both are looking at the almighty dollar so much that the patient (you know the people they are supposed to be helping?) suffer the consequences. When I moved back to this area in 2003 after 18 years away, I wondered why my BCBS premiums went up 50.00 a month more just because I lived in this area. Thanks for letting me vent I am going to keep a copy of this for anyone else who asks LOL Doug
