Guest guest
I don't know if the NSAID reaction is related to IgE, but I have had reactions to some NSAIDs and some I haven't. My Celebrex reaction was before Xolair, my Cliniril reaction was after I started Xolair. I have taken Motrin, Aspirin, Relefen, Naprosyn; Vioxx and Bextra before they were taken off the market; without problems. It was a visit to the ER for Celebrex and Cliniril; although thinking back the reaction preXolair lasted for a number of days where the reaction postXolair was milder. But the difference may have been how my body reacted to the different med, nothing relating to whether I was on Xolair or not. After two shoulder surgeries, one knee and one foot; I cringe every time they change my meds. I have been on maintenance NSAIDs since 2001. Guest guest
Thanks, Debbie. I have reacted to Motrin, Aspirin, Naprosyn and one that starts with an " F " . But I had no problems with Vioxx. I have now been on the Celebrex for 5 days and have had no issues with my asthma. But it will be a truer test to see how I do the week before my Xolair shot is due (2/18). I have had 3 knee surgeries, a shoulder surgery, reflux surgery, nasal surgery and now need the foot fixed (Morton's Neuroma gone nuts.) I have gotten to the point with injuries where I just treat with rest, ice and electrical stim. I had to even resort to prednisone a few times pre-Xolair (and once post). But if Celebrex works, that would be great to have an NSAID again. On a side note, I got great news at the eye doctor the other day. Pressure is back down in my left eye so the reduction in steroids (off oral pred and dropping from 500 to 250 w/ Advair) seems to have made a difference. Phew! My husband prefers if only one thing is broke at a time. LOL!!! B. From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of jsrcreation@... Sent: Friday, February 08, 2008 11:42 AM Subject: [ ] Re:NSAID reaction allergic? Guest guest
Thank you for the detailed explanation on the reaction to NSAIDs. I found the information quite interesting.
