Just in case, my doc says use 5 tablets 4 times a day for a fesw days then taper to 3 tablets, 3 times a day.
Guest guest
Matt, Great research. As I understand it (from my doc) Biotin actually draws candida into the gut where it may be forming mycelial types that are harder to treat. Also have read that Biotin is not a good idea to take intially, better to start anti-yeast therapies and then add Biotin in to get at next level. FWIW, > Biotin > Aloe vera > > Also diet is most important. > Remeber, this is not my experience, just my internet research. soon I > will > have experience as I have ordered the above. > > Matt
Guest guest
Matt, I don't know about avoiding it - just maybe don't start out w it. Good candida archives at - (lots of biochemistry and advice, easy to search) - www.healthyawareness.com (type my name into the search and see where I have been living on the net for a year or so!) Guest guest
What kind of garlic?? You just chomp on some? While I normally get it in my mouth, I really am at a loss when it grows down south (other than the usual nasty suppositories, creams, ointments and such...) Doug, aren't you glad you don't have those hard-to-use female parts??? C (stoned out of her gourd on 50 mg of the evil candy) Ask a question on any topic and get answers from real people. Guest guest
I use garlic tablets though a friend swears by fresh garlic. Both the garlic and acidophilus work systemically. Yeast infections are an overgrowth of the yeast that is normally in our body flora. The acidophilus and other probiotics help keep the yeast in control. Probiotics also help to repopulate the gut after antibiotics kill off many 'bugs' in the body, both bad and good. Steroids also upset the balance. I usually get relief in a few days. Taking too much garlic or acidophilus too fast will trigger a yeast die-off that can trigger GI upset. So if it is something you are not used to taking, start slow. Sometimes I take some with each meal, other times it is just once a day. I have 5 kids. 3 of them have asthma and had so as nursing infants. Between my inhaled steroids and their inhaled steroids we battled Thrush often until I found out about the garlic and acidophilus trick. Good luck! B. Guest guest
What about limiting chips?? I luv chips. When I was in hosptial, my friends took me for my outing off the floor to the cafe. I had an italian soda and a cheeze danish (yum). Came back to the floor with high sugars and and got an arm-full of sliding scale insulin. Ooops. I have some acidophilius. Will that work for oral thrush or just vaginal?? C ps on the bright side, my sugars are back to normal.... Looking for the perfect gift?
