Guest guest
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Hope everyone had a safe holiday season!! I'm here to remind you that we need your calendar updates for 2006. Chapter, District events for Spring, Fall and everything in between. The News I know of ... District Directors(DD) and National Executives(NE) will be having a conference call January 8, Sunday. Feel free to email your district directors with any concerns for 2006 (Don't shoot me DD's). For a list of DD's in your area please go to www.lpaonline.org/local and regionals. Membership Dues are annual depending on the last time you paid. Please pay your dues so that the following funds, district and chapters will have your support. If you don't know when you paid last, your district director should have this information. You can also send an email to Maureen at info@.... All District 13 members(TN, AL, GA, MS) can contact Cricket at cricketlynch@... (NEW EMAIL). It's also on your label of the last newsletter in December. If you didn't receive one, it came back! Did you know that we have many more funds that need your help? Adoption funds are always in high need of extra funds to help families find a " little-littles " and defray the cost of adoptions. Can you believe we used that years ago? I kind of like it, until you get to be 5. Who remembers? Remember, applications for Scholoarships, Medical Funds - Bach and General, and Kitchens Travel Fund will be going out soon to your district directors and chapter presidents. Some have deadlines in April, and travel arrangements need to be made. All expenses may or may not be paid, depends what funds are available and how many applicants we have this year. More details can be obtained by visiting the LPAONLINE.org site. VP of Programs will be evaluating and awarding all funds. NOTE: Scholarship funds need to have either a chapter officer or district director recommendation attached with the application, so if you don't know them, but get a letter out or introduce yourself at the next meeting/regional!! Camp Little People will be doing their annual event June 9-11 in Pennsylvania. Limited space is available. You can find their website via lpaonline.org for applications and what to bring. Big Event this year is the National Conference in Milwaukee, WI. June 30 thru July 7-8, 2006. You can get more information from District 6 website at www.lpad6.org. They do have an " official " conference website. If you are in need of a room mate, start getting the word out. 2007 National Conference is in Seattle, WA. June 29-July 6-7, 2007. Official website should be up by years end if not before. You can contact, District Director 11 for more information. www.lpad11.org. Have you ever taken a train ride? Amtrak has a great trip running through the northwest from Chicago to Portland. Seattle was one of the stops. I would only recommend one-way, or alternative train route back home. It was neat the first time out, then I was kind of bored on the way back. I was able to catch up on the sleep I missed at conference though. Have a prosperous 2006, Cricket __________________________________________ DSL – Something to write home about. Just $16.99/mo. or less. dsl.
