Guest guest
Hello everyone I have not posted in a while, but have been following the posts. As you might recall, I was taken off Xolair in February of this year because my doctor at the time felt it hadn't helped me...was on it for just over a year. I had a bone scan recently which showed osteopenia. My family dr. put me on Didrocal (I'm in Canada, so don't know name in the States). This is for osteopenia/osteoporosis which is caused for corticosteriod use. I am 43 and premenopausal. I am still taking numerous meds, but hope to be off Prednisone tomorrow!!!!! (Thanks to for giving me support in my taper!) I had a sleep study done last month, which showed sleep apnea and I am having a CT scan on my lungs in July to look for underlying causes as to why my asthma is not repsonding to meds (possibly to rule out bronchiecstatis). I have a follow-up appointment in September with apparently the best respirologist in Kingston (who is young and involved in research for asthma). I am hoping to bring up Xolair with her, because I feel that I was on too low of a dose....I was on the minimum per month, but both my IGE and my weight were EXTREMELY close to the next dosing. What really sucked is that my husbands insurance plan covered me 100% for Xolair, with no life-time maximum! Bye for now Pamela
