Pre existing conditions - insurance

I am not entirely sure, but I believe that several years ago, the

federal government did something about this. I think it said that if

you leave a job and loose your coverage then the insurance at your new

job can't hold pre existing conditions against you. This rule is even

for family members who are on your policy.

Anyone out there have more info on this?
