Guest guest
(Not sure I got the name quite right) This is a great report and thanks to Carol for noticing us about it. Things I found interesting: --It talks about step treatment. A couple of us have used the term " step " before in talking about the continuum of treatment possibilities. --We have all discussed the fact that each of us needs to do an individual risk determination when choosing whether or not to take Xolair. The report discusses the need for the physician and patient to do assessments in both the " impairment and risk domains " when evaluating potential asthma treatments. --the report emphasizes a written asthma plan, which a lot of physicians don't do for all their patients, but should, especially for parents of children (IMHO). --Xolair is being referred to as the first available immunomodulator. Cool word. Somebody add it to our glossary! For those of you with children, the report breaks out recommendations for children from adults, which it did not do in 1997, the last time the report was issued. Take care all, Addy
