Guest guest
Increasing bruising is commonly associated with use (and in some cases) previous use of prednisone. Guest guest
Addy, you are right about the prednisone. But I also bruised badly when I was very anemic about six years ago, but it could also have been a combination of the pred and the anemia that caused me to bruise. I haven't bruised quite like that since. By the way, I haven't had to have prednisone since 2006--did take one course of it as a test to see how much the xolair might improve my asthma, but not because I HAD to have it. And that was over a year ago! Xolair has certainly worked for me. pyle456 <coachmac@...> wrote: Increasing bruising is commonly associated with use (and in some cases) previous use of prednisone. Guest guest
The new report Carol referenced mentions this as well and adds that the threshold is variable, meaning not all folks will experiencing bruising and some will experience it more (and for longer periods) than others. > > > I am 52 and haven't even had a hot flash, steroids > > > have always > > > affected my cycle. Guest guest
Inhaled steroids (e.g. in Advair, Flovent and others) are also absorbed by the body and can cause bruising like prednisone can. Regardless, you should not make any assumptions about what is causing your bruising. It's very important to tell your primary about it so she/he can check you out. Sometimes bruising is the first symptom of serious illness - please don't take any chances. Guest guest
I did with Prednisone. The bruising was so bad my arms would bleed. I have been off the nasty pill since last May and just get the amount in my inhaler. The bruising has gone away. Guest guest
I am still on Prednisone and get bruising and bleeding, especially on the arms. Sometimes I do not even know what caused the bruise. Mine is Prednisone related and has nothing to do with Xolair. Ron On May 2, 2008, at 9:18 AM, Magnuson wrote: > I did with Prednisone. Guest guest
I have no site bruising from my xolair injections, isn't even achy like a flu shot. Bruising on other places is due to being on evil candy for so many years. ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Guest guest
I've been covered with bruises and oozie rashes/sores and itchiness all over for about 12 days. I was working in the yard and was exposed to a type of wild ivy that must be similar to poison ivy. I was hoping it wouldn't bothor me that much after 13 + months on Xolair but it did. I keep breaking out with new " oozies " including on my face which is especially embarrassing. At least some/most of the bruises must have come from being poked by the shrubs I was trimming. The bruises are very dark, almost black. It might be slightly due to Xolair - it seems like there are more of them and they are darker. My only other possibly perceived side effect is arthritis - it's getting worse. Wish I could say that I'm breathing well but I'm not - could be worse, in fact, MUCH worse. I'm staying off steroids. But, I can hear myself " snore " (am awake) or wheeze or whatever. Added spiriva back to my treatment as doc prescribed - didn't think it helped but after a week w/o it I think I'm better with it. At last, on the overall, I have FAR FEWER SINUS HEADACHES and am so glad. Still have them but they're easier to control with sudafed and I take fewer pills. Per the Xolair injections ... well, I inject myself and generally do not have bruises which is remarkable. Once in a while I somehow manage to poke the " wrong " place and end up w/local bruising but in the big scheme of things it's normally not a big deal. I take 3 vials every 2 weeks. Live in a warm moldy climate and have allergic bronchopulmonary aspergilliosis (among other things). > > > > > I did with Prednisone. Guest guest
That's happened to me three different time, and each time I ended up having to get oral steroids and antibiotics to clear it up. Good luck. I hope it goes away on its own soon. Addy > > > > > > > I did with Prednisone.
