Guest guest
You will want to talk to your oncologist and your allergist about this. I would also call the National Jewish Center helpline. They participated in the studies and will have excellent information. If you are unable to get an answer from them, then ask one or both of your doctors to call them or another researach hospital for a consultation. My guess is that if you are already on Xolair and have had no difficulties with it, both your oncologist and allergist will probably want you to continue Xolair, but if you have not yet started it yet, they may both want you to wait to start until after your cancer treatment is completed. That decision, however, may also be very dependent on the severity of your asthma. I believe there have been some studies that patients continued receiving the benefits of Xolair for a few months after stopping it, but I'm not sure about that. I know I had to stop taking it between jobs due to no insurance, and I was in reasonably good health until the 3rd month without Xolair, and then my asthma took a dive. But that is my experience only. best of luck and health to you, Addy Group co-owner > > I was just diagnosed with breast cancer.
