Great reminders.

I just had a six month checkup with the doctor who oversees my xolair and he was

pleased.  Two years with no prednisone, no antibiotics, no er visits, no waking

up at night because of coughing, etc., and asthma has not kept me from generally

doing what I have to do and want to do.  Yea for xolair!

Your reminders are great.  For years I have always made a doctor's appointment

about two weeks before we were to go out of town and if I was leaving the

country, I made sure and they did too that I had all of the meds I needed or

might need.

I don't have a battery operated portable neb, but I am thinking about getting

one.  We do travel quite a bit and the portable neb I have is small, but runs on

electricity only.

Those of you on the East Coast--stay safe and dry and out of harm's way.  It

looks like this hurricane season is going to be a doozy!

1. Are all your scripts current, even the ones you don't need very

often THANKS TO XOLAIR?

2. Do you have a portable neb? A number of us on use the Micro Air

by Omron, available at portablenebs. com and other resources.

3. Changed the battery in your smoke detector lately?

4. Do you have an emergency plan for your family suitable to the

area you live in and typical hazardous situations?

5. Do you call your pulmo/allergist before taking trips out of the

area to make sure they don't want you to take an extra precaution?

E.G. I went to the Grand Canyon for my brother's wedding - no changes

except they wanted me to take an antibiotic with me PRN. The trip up

was terrible on my sinuses, thanks to change in elevation. Trip down

also.

Take care, all,

Thanks Addy, good suggestions. I'm going on vacation in another week and might

have forgotten my daughter's neb. JEan
