Guest guest
Good subject line! That's one of several reasons I don't like infusion centers - they screw up appts constantly for my husband who has MS. Also, they talk to patients about their symptoms, blood pressure, temperature, etc. in front of everyone else. Naturally my hubby rarely tells the truth. Everybody is in one big open room. I would never ever let them do that to me on Xolair. Honest ... I'd be calling the Joint Commission right then and there about violation of HIPA laws. Glad you stood up to them - you're right - clerks should not be practicing medicine. > > Hi, > So in Canada, Xolair influsions are organized by Xhale, a third party used by Novartis to administer the injections at infusions centers. The infusion centers are in local health clinics where they rent space. The people at Xhale are generally a friendly, competent lot. They do have some trouble with communication. > Last week I showed up to my appointment to find the nurse was not there as she had called sick that day. Xhale had called my mom's house to cancel my appointment. I do not even live with my mom so I never got the message. So I missed my injection and showed up for nothing. > This week, on Monday, I called them to reschedule. The chick was like " well since you have an appointment already for the week of June 16, why don't we just skip this injection so I don't have to move all your appointements? " I was about to say yes, then I realized, wait a minute, this chick is no doctor, who is she to suggest I skip a treatment???? I already was sob so I said " Um, no I kinda need my injection this week.... " She was nice about it but clearly annoyed that I made her do more work. Well too bad! > Home injection is not going to happen any time soon in Canada so I might as well get used to this..... > > > > __________________________________________________________________ > Be smarter than spam.
