Guest guest
There should be questions you ask at this point: 1. What is your condition now relative to before you went on Xolair? 2. The answer to that question should help with the second question, which is what were your IgE levels prior to beginning Xolair. Even though Xolair didn't resolve the GI issues I was going through that got me on Xolair, it did resolve my asthma pretty much about 5-6 months after I was on it. But, in my case it turned out that my enviromental IgE level was quite small as was my amount of asthma. The Xilair worked well for me under that scenario. If you have strong allergies that contribute to your asthma then it is possible that the current doseage was just enough to bind most, but not all the IgE contributing to your asthma OR your exposure level has increased beyond what the Xolair at your doseage can bind out. It is also possible that your asthma isn't purely rooted in your allergic system. My asthma is made worse because I got reflux and esophageal spasms which cause aspiration into my lungs. That form of irritation from my experience feels quite similar to when I had allergic asthma. > > hi..i have been getting 2 shots of xolair once a month for a little > over a year. i have been getting worse and went to the lung center at > UPMC in Pittsburgh and was told, what i knew, i was getting worse and > increased my xolair to 2 shots every 2 weeks!! has anyone else had > this happen? >
Guest guest
I have always gotten 2 shots twice a month from day 1. I don't think going twice a month should worry you. It would seem to me to be more theraputic for you to do so. I wouldn't look at it like a set back. There have been increased pollen levels this year etc. Sharon -----Original Message----- From: ittcadnut <ittcadnut@...> Sent: Wed, 30 Jul 2008 12:14 pm Subject: [ ] new w/questions hi..i have been getting 2 shots of xolair once a month for a little over a year. i have been getting worse and went to the lung center at UPMC in Pittsburgh and was told, what i knew, i was getting worse and increased my xolair to 2 shots every 2 weeks!! has anyone else had this happen? ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
