Hi!

When the FDA report came out I didn't think much of it since, well how random is

that as a side effect? I got put on levaquin 10 days ago in hospital for

pneumonia. Fast forward 9 days and I can't walk!!!! Sudden onset bilateral

tendonitis in both achilles tendons. I was casted, put on crutches and

everything. Anyway, health canada never even issued a statement about the

risk. I saw my physio and the tendons are still nicely attached and I lost the

crutches but I am limping around big time......sigh. Apparently the risk is

increased if you are on pred. Go figure.....my pulmo was like " and WHY are you

in a wheelchair? " when she saw me.

It will heal but this is going to take a while. Lungs, meanwhile, ain't pleased.

Thought I'd share my misery......apparently these warnings are there for a

reason!!!

was up at 5h30, craving carbs and the witch/bitch switch is jammed in

the on position. Can I eat chocolate for breakfast? Actually, what I

really want is sauasage.... yum.

Pred and going mental? Good grief, I could write a full book about

it. Hmmmm, come to think of it someone has:

" Coping with Prednisone (and Other Cortisone-Related Medicines): It

May Work Miracles, but How Do You Handle the Side Effects? "

by Eugenia Zukerman (Author), R. Ingelfinger (Author)

You can find it at Amazon.com
