Guest guest
I had heard many years ago that theoretically there might some bright side (ha!) to allergies. Just came across this article that people with allergic asthma and hay fever are less likely to develop non- Hodgkins lymphoma. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/116643.php .... In a paper presented at an international symposium in Sydney, the researchers show that people with one of these atopic diseases are up to 25 percent less likely to get the most common type of Non- Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL). ..... The more atopic diseases the individual has, the less likely they are to succumb to NHL. If an individual has three of these conditions, they are 40 percent less likely to get NHL. (see the web page for the rest of the article) .... ________________________________________ Perhaps this is why a miniscule number of people developed certain types of cancer in the trials on Xolair although most if not all of those people either already had a problem or it ran in their families. It's obviously not the whole story, though, because the vast majority of people on Xolair do NOT appear to develop serious complications.
