Guest guest
I had elevated levels of prolactin about 20 years ago - not unusual in women. It disappeared about 3 years ago although I'll admit it hasn't been tested since. But, never even thought of it related to Xolair. Is there a special reason for the question? --- In , " Mark Headley " <mjheadley@...> wrote: > > anyone else experience this? > > anyone else have their prolactin levels monitored while on Xolair and seen no change? > > Thanks, > > Mark > >
Guest guest
The reason I ask is that my serum prolactin level doubled in the wake of Xolair administration and has returned to normal since the trial was stopped. I'm not aware of any other possible culprit. However, my serum prolactin has risen and fallen before mysteriously. I haven't taken prednisone and don't currently have ongoing asthma, although I remain susceptible to episodes. In some rodent studies, excessive histamine binding to receptors in the brain have been associated with surges in serum prolactin. I believe this is consistent with my experience.
