Guest guest
I dont' get gas as a result of eating raw garlic or onions. On the other hand, eating nuts -- even soaked nuts, can cause me intestinal cramps, abdominal pain, and gas, if I eat too many of them... Regularly, we eat ( my husband and I ) a HUGE salad for dinner, lately, made of cabbage, an entire onion chopped up, about five big cloves of strong garlic, a little bit of olive oil and lemon juice and some lentil sprouts and tomatoes. This has never caused me any upset stomach or gas. But eating nuts in much less quantity, even if they are soaked and draing ( i.e. sprouted such as almonds ) can cause me intestinal cramps and gas Peace, Cathie > In a message dated 7/25/2004 6:42:42 PM Mountain Daylight Time, > suziesgoats@y... writes: > > > Eating raw garlic on an empty stomach can irratate your stomach. > > Suzi > > > > > > > > I think the key word in your statement here is " can, " Suzi. > I take raw garlic on an empty stomach regularly ( though not daily ) and it > has never irritated my stomache. > On the other hand, eating a single slice of cooked, processed pizza that is > not as fresh as it should be, or has too many bad fats from low quality > sausage, can cause me a bad case of indigestion in ten minutes or less. > I have only had indigestion/heart-burn very seldom in my life, and it has > always been in conjunction with low quality processed greasy ( or shall I say > greazzzy ) foods. > When I take a tablespoon of garlic on an empty stomach, if it is very strong > garlic, on occasion it will give me a strong " burp " feeling going down but > this feeling passes in a matter of minutes, and does not, for me at least, give > way to either indigestion or upset stomach. > I have gotten sick eating Bratwurst before, on occasion, even when it was > fresh. > Heavy Cream like whipping cream, can make me nauseous if I eat too much at > once. > > Peace, > Cathie
