Guest guest
>> " Xolair isn't necessarily only for people with allergic asthma dependent on steroids, and it has reportedly induced remission in some patients with other severe afflictions. " >That is ACTUALLY WRONG!!!! . . . . There are a " gazillion " trials going on at the moment to prove there are numerous other uses of Xolair. BUT until the FDA says yes to those results, your statement is in fact incorrect. Nope. I didn't say the FDA had approved Xolair for other uses. Much medication legally precribed in the US is for " off-label " uses not authorized by the FDA. Many off-label uses are widely recommended by US professional medical organizations; drug/medical insurance companies here commonly pay for off-label uses; and the FDA itself has said it will consider off-label uses of a medication in determining whether a potential shortage involves a " medically necessary " drug. I am among the many patients who could have died long ago if not for off-label uses. Also, many people are rendered medical care in areas of our planet unregulated by the FDA or other US rules and laws. Mark
