any hints to clear water behind ear-drum?

Well I had an ear infection for three weeks. Tried everthing I could

think of and it kept getting worse (ear cones, oil with garlic, tea

tree, lavender, washing out with peroxide, saline, water) anyway, I

finally caved in and got some antibiotics. Then went to an ear

specialist because I still couldn't here. The ear specialist said

the infection was cleared, washed out my ear and didn't want to do

more. He thought the water behind the drum would go away on its

own. Well, I'm getting on a plane in a week and I certainly don't

want this problem still around when I change altitudes. Any pearls

of wisdom out there? Hey I'll even take rocks of wisdom. Thanks. D.
