Guest guest
I've also had a dramatic increase in peak flow since starting Xolair a few years ago. I used to have (on normal to good days) a morning reading of 350-375 and by mid-afternoon a reading of 425-450 (i attributed the difference partially to taking my meds but mainly to getting all the morning crud out lol). I noticed it a few times since starting X, but primarily in the last year my morning readings are usually around 400 and by mid-afternoon 475-500. Before Xolair I don't recall ever getting 500 but now I can get 500+ probably 1 out of every 3 times unless I'm sick or in the midst of a good allergy attack. > > I wondered if anyone else had a similar experience with Xolair... > > Because my peak flow meter readings are pretty reliable, hovering at an average of about > 355, I stopped taking daily readings a few months back. Guest guest
Hi, I don't use peak flow readings, but I do remember 3-4 months into treatment with Xolair I had stopped all prednisone and was feeling pretty good almost daily. I went to the pharmacy and looked in the mirror where you try on those reading glasses, and I remember seeing MY face for the first time - not my puffy, sinusy, prednisone bloated face. It was a great day! Take care, all of you, Addy Group co-owner > > I wondered if anyone else had a similar experience with Xolair... > > Because my peak flow meter readings are pretty reliable, hovering at an average of about > 355, I stopped taking daily readings a few months back. Guest guest
Hi Bisnono, I too had an early improvement in my peak flow. I noticed a slight improvement at 1 month but a significant change similar to yours at two months. I know we aren't the norm for results but my doctor told me that some people show a significant improvement soon. That would be us... Congratulations I have been on X a year and one month and have only been on Pred once during that time due to prolonged exposure to my Christmas tree around Dec 31st as it had grown so much mold on it. Cheers to you and the rest of my X Neighbors have an awesome week everyone! Best Breathing wishes, Laurie p.s. Guest guest
I credit Xolair with improving my peak flow from around 420 to 500. This is on top of other meds that originally took me from around 360 to 440. But now 500 is my norm, even during allergy season, and it's not unusual for me to hit 550 if I don't blow up any crud while taking the test. Now, on a clear cool day when there's no allergens or pollution in the air, like after the first frost in autumn or before the trees bloom in spring I've surprised myself with readings of 600 and even higher. On those rare days I feel absolutely euphoric, better than I can remember in years. Oh, and no prednisone in over a year now. > > I wondered if anyone else had a similar experience with Xolair... > > Because my peak flow meter readings are pretty reliable, hovering at an average of about > 355, I stopped taking daily readings a few months back.
