I had my xolair shots today and since posts about bruising have

appeared again, I looked at my injection sites about 10 minutes after

getting them. I couldn't tell that anything had poked me at all. No

pain, no redness, no bruising. Nuttin! I have never had this problem

in the 4.5 years I have been on xolair.

Now, REGULAR allergy shots are a different story. ALWAYS redness,

slight pain and some swelling. No bruising though.

i bruise with almost any injection - always have, at least, for some

time now. i think its from the ICS (i was on advair, now i'm on

symbacort). if i increase my ICS, i bruise easier. as for bleeding,

every now and again i must hit a varicose vein (there's so many to

choose from) on my leg and i bleed...somehow, that always catches me

off gaurd!

the vein problem has nothing to do with xolair, but genetics (thanks

mom!)

I don't get bruising from the shots, but if I get a bump (and recently a big

fall), I get way more bruising than I used to get. I am not on pred, only Xolair

and Clarinex. I definitely won't stop the shots, but just wondered.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who is always freezing. Winters in NY are

a nightmare for me. I suffer from Reactive Arthritis. My dr. has said that

feeling cold is not a symptom of ReA, but I'm convinced that each person's

body works differently, and responds to illness differently. How do you cope

with the cold?

I am so with you there on the bruising. It seems like I just take a breath

and then pop! There is a new bruise. For me, it is a combo of all the

drugs I am on and then to top it all off, I am sooo cold all the time!

The tests and trials of RA..ugh!

I moved to Puerto Rico!  My docs told me to go where it is warm.  I am glad I

took their advaice.  My best to you. Dolores

Mona get your FERRITIN level checked. NOT CBC (complete blood count) not red

blood cells. Ask for FERRITIN level and don't take " oh it's in your blood

count " for an answer. If you are in a low area of normal start Iron. Do not

do the iron on your own without a test. You may have enough and it may be a

thyroid problem. Also ask for specifically a T3 and T4 thyroid test. Most

times all they test for is T3 and say its negative.

Good luck.
