Most people are already on pred when starting Xolair, so she can stay on it per

her doc's instructions.

Xolair costs roughly $500 per vial retail, so how much your daughter's

payment/amount depends on her dosage. There is a program for those who don't

have insurance - check through some earlier posts about that.

PS - glad you got the doc to finally sign off. How logn have you been working

at this - 6 months? 10?

there any program to help pay for the cost of uninsured? Right now my daughter

is covered for a year but after that she is no longer under our insurance and I

don't see her getting a job for now. thanks. jean

Thanks Addy,

Now If I can get her dr. to cont the pred. Her allergist said he didnt have

a problem with her being on it but that her derm has to agree because he is the

one who put her on for her skin(too many doctors).

for the xolair she will be on the maximum dose two shots every 2 weeks so that

means $2000, yikes. I will ck the earlier post. She is covered up to her 19th

birthday and she will be 18 in a week.

I actually ask her allergist about this about 10 to 12 months ago and was told

her IgE was too high and it prob. wouldn't work for her skin also because it was

so high she was a candidate for severe reactions. He has changed his tune since

then. He doesn't have any patients on it for AD, just asthma but he said he

would try it(isnt that sweet of him, lol)

well thanks for the answers. off to the past post. jean
