Guest guest
> > Very interesting. I have done a lot of specialized clinical work and research with asthma pharmacology, focusing on inhaled corticosteroids, but I have never witnessed this. I have, however read about it in the literature. how do you react to oral/iv steroids? the same? are you able to go on a 'burst' of oral steroids if you have an exacerbation? > I've never been given an iv steroid. I can't do a " burst " , as it takes such a short time for the reaction to occur. One of my doctors said he'd witnessed an event in the emergency room, where a patient was given a steroid and it was like someone had flipped his crazy switch. They actually had to restrain him. I've never turned " rabid " like that, but any drug that makes me think I need to kill my family, Is not a drug I'm going to take.
Guest guest
Yes, antipsychotics are pretty ugly to have to deal with. They make you like a walking zombie and can cause tardive dyskenesia. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Sent: Thursday, March 26, 2009 10:35 AM Subject: [ ] Re: How asthma medicines developed through the ages > > Wow, did they ever have to put you on an antipsychotic after being on > steroids? > > No, when I stop the steroids the problems go away pretty quickly. It has been suggested that I take an antipsychotic so that I can take steroids. But that is a game I refuse to play!
