Guest guest
That is strange...I have NEVER had a problem with Accredo. They've always been great. I have been 3-4 days late getting my Xolair shots without any problems. More than that, though, and I start to have a real increase in allergy symptoms. Addy > > ....because just keeping up with xolair is enough to drive your blood pressure up. It usually arrives at my house by UPS in the morning so something told me to call the shipper and sure enough they had the date incorrect despite the fact we had spoken and confirmed yesterday to be the shipping date. OK today worked for me but tomorrow does not but if I am to take injections on Friday, then I need the delivery tomorrow. So then they said they had to check and see if they could ship it out tomorrow and I told them I did not care if the President of the company had to box it himself and take it to Fed Ex that " NO " since they made an error was not acceptable. The entire conversation was as if Accredo did not give a darn when I received it. So now I had to get stressed and am stressing if I will actually receive the product tomorrow. I will be a day late as it is. I am already on the fence about Xolair. > > Where do they find these people who work in the medical profession? > Do they have to pass some sort of test which shows that they have no empathy? >
Guest guest
Addy, It is a typical day for me--I seem to have to babysit every prescription, device, medical supply but this was not the first time Accredo slipped up. I was kind of shocked when I called them and the clerk told me that it was scheduled to go out Next Wednesday. I will have to pay someone to retrieve the Xolair tomorrow as I will be 3 hours away at a doctor's appointment. Sigh. It is always something or another. I am having sooo much trouble breathing today but then Dallas has orange level ozone plus Saharan Sand from the fires in Africa. Guest guest
would your dr be able to write a prescription for the xolair & you could pick it up at a local pharmacy? my husband gets his xolair shots at the dr's office (the dr orders it & has it at her clinic). however, our local winn dixie pharmacy mentioned that they would be able to order it for my husband, with the dr's prescription of course. ________________________________ From: mccallalton <mccallalton@...> Sent: Wednesday, July 22, 2009 5:48:46 PM Subject: [ ] I know why there is increased cardiovascular incidence;.... .....because just keeping up with xolair is enough to drive your blood pressure up. Guest guest
I have never heard of a local pharmacy being able to get Xolair. When your WD pharmacist said they would order it, did they really know what it was? As far as I know, the manufacturers contract with only a few specialty pharmacies to carry it. Perhaps things have changed.... Guest guest
they claimed they did know what it was. i go there so often for numerous prescriptions & mentioned that my husband was now on xolair through his dr's office. it was the head pharmacist who offered that they could order it. i too was surprised as i thought it came from specialty pharmacies only or a dr's office. i guess we'd have to call genetech to find out. for now, it works for us to get it through the dr's office since they are giving the shots. UPDATE: just called genentech. they confirmed that xolair can only come from a speciality pharmacy. she said the winn dixie pharamacist may be able to order it but if it would be sent out, they would receive a " cease & desist " letter. she also told me that since my husband is on medicare, it must come from a dr's office & i assume be given there also in order for it to be covered. she asked that i post the genentech toll free # 1-800-240-1224 m-f 6am-5pm pst. she said the person who had trouble with their specialty pharmacy should call genentech. ________________________________ From: pyle456 <jamcculloch2@...> Sent: Wednesday, July 22, 2009 7:28:16 PM Subject: [ ] Re: I know why there is increased cardiovascular incidence;... Guest guest
Yes, you can get it at certain Walgreens stores. It depends on what deals your insurance has with the distribution/pharmacy companies. It all has to be set up and approved in advance. I've had a lot of trouble with Walgreens screwing up Rxs though and have been round and round with them. I have complained to the state pharmacy board. When I was getting Xolair delivered (a different company - can't remember the name now) they left it outside - did not follow my directions, or at least UPS did not. Otherwise the delivery seemed stable after it finally was established. Going to an infusion center was even worse - they couldn't get the pcp to cooperate in approving things. > > > > would your dr be able to write a prescription for the xolair & you could pick it up at a local pharmacy? my husband gets his xolair shots at the dr's office (the dr orders it & has it at her clinic). however, our local winn dixie pharmacy mentioned that they would be able to order it for my husband, with the dr's prescription of course. > > > > > > > > > > ________________________________ > > From: mccallalton <mccallalton@> > > > > Sent: Wednesday, July 22, 2009 5:48:46 PM > > Subject: [ ] I know why there is increased cardiovascular incidence;.... > > > > > > ....because just keeping up with xolair is enough to drive your blood pressure up.
