Hi and everyone.

My daughter had her 2nd series of xolair shots last Friday. She didnt get

bronchitis or any asthma flares like after the first shots so I guess it is safe

to say it was just a conincidence(yea) Hasnt helped yet but it is early and I am

glad that there were no reactions other than she said the shots really hurt.

Its funny but when I first started the shots didnt hurt but the last few times

it did, it is over very quickly though. thanks for the help you have given.

> Sorry it took so long for me to post a reply but I read your post with

interest. I personally think it is a bad conincidence. I have had my xolair and

then ended up in ER that NIGHT for an admission. I have been taken by my xolair

nurse from the clinic to ER with a flare. Your daughter could have been growing

a bug she wasnt telling you about if she didn't want to mess up getting her

first injection or she picked something up on site for the injection or she was

stressed about the whole thing. Its spring, does she normally flare in the

spring? The possibilities are endless. What MDs are really concerned about is

anaphylactic reactions, which is not what she had.

has cancer and I do this all the time) because if we advocate too hard for

treatment A and something bad happens we feel beyond horrible. It clouds our

judgment which is why as a nurse I am often told to be the daughter and let

others make the decisions. Hah, easier said that done. your daughter is so

lucky to have you. Do not feel that what happened was in any way your fault or

was due to the xolair. That is up to her responsible MDs to figure out.

pred since 2003 and xolair since 2005 and the two go hand in hand very well. It

is such a specific molecule it is difficult for there to be an interaction.

Monday. Her asthma started flaring a little that night and increasing symptoms,

but controlled with her nebulizer. Friday night her chest felt tight and Sat.

the nebi wasnt working that good. Took her to urgent care and dr. said she had

bronchitis.

the xolair?

> she is really on the xolair more for skin(atopic derm) then asthma.

while on xolair because I have been on it.
